Work took me to Marquette, Michigan on a beautiful, although slightly overcast, June day. There’s a bit of a color shift on this roll of Kodak Portra 800. Quite frankly, I had no idea how old the roll was. My guess it was 2021 or 2022, so not too far out, but it was inside my camera inside my camera cabinet on the main floor of my home, so I could not expect miracles. I only had about an hour to explore, but I had to see the Lower Harbor Ore Dock. I stopped at a great Mexican restaurant, El Santo, and those tacos are calling for my return. Sailboats…

We took a trip out west in September of 2023. I had a work conference in Scottsdale, and we hadn’t been to California in a few years. My son wanted to see Universal Studios Hollywood, and we wanted to see a friend who had moved to Santa Barbara several years ago. We stayed at the Santa Barbara Inn which is right next to the beach and is highly recommended. You can take in the view of the early morning cyclists and joggers from the patio as you enjoy your breakfast. We had a lovely stay, and look forward to returning soon. Film lovers have been pretty excited with the re-release of Kodak’s Ektachrome, and have been anxiously awaiting their shipments to give it a try. I placed an order as soon as the FIND lab started taking orders and received five rolls in the first shipment. The day job delayed shooting a bit, but work took me to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and I finished my roll of Ektar which was in the camera and then shot a roll of Ektachrome. Here are the results.
